Wood - Christ our Savior

Encountering the cross and understanding Christ as Savior is the starting point and foundational building block of all of life and all that we do. Sometimes we need a fresh look at the cross. The ministries that fall under the Wood element at SVA allow you to do just that. Encounter Jesus Christ, connect as a member of His family - the church, and develop a spiritual foundation that is solid and dynamic!

e.l.e.m.e.n.t.s. Class Find out all about you and SVA while building authentic community through this core class. e.l.e.m.e.n.t.s will help you understand what it means to be a part of the Body of Christ; how to connect with God and other people; how to live missionally and purposefully; how to allow the Holy Spirit to work deeper in your heart; how to read and understand the Bible; how to find your unique God-design and use it to make a difference in the world.

Membership
The difference between attenders and members is "commitment." At SVA we recognize the need for formal membership. If you have attended the e.l.e.m.e.n.t.s. class anytime during SVA's lifespan and signed a membership covenant, you are considered a member of SVA and have voting rights at the annual or member's meetings.

Volunteer Opportunities
We have a myriad of volunteer opportunities at SVA. There are ways to serve on Sunday mornings and throughout the week. To find out more click here.

Spiritual Gifts Assessment
Life is an amazing journey, and God has great things for us to do along the way, but how do we know what these things are? How do we know if were heading in the right direction when it comes to getting involved in our church and community? When traveling, a compass can lead us in the right direction; likewise, on our spiritual journey, our "Spiritual Gifts" can act as a compass - leading us in the right direction for sharing our life with others. How has God uniquely gifted you to serve? Each of us has certain gifts that we just naturally do well. Take a few minutes to complete the Spiritual Gift Assessment to find out how God has uniquely shaped you. Click here

Expeditions
When you are ready to engage in your mission, you may find God calling you to launch a new ministry, Expeditions takes you through team building, creating a plan, and how to bring your mission passion to fruition.

Baptism
At SVA we believe in the importance of baptism. Everything Jesus did was to set an example for Christ-followers. Baptism illustrates our connection to Jesus Christ and the promise of His presence in our own life. Baptism is scheduled quarterly on Sundays. Next Baptism is April 22. Email info@svaonline.com or mark your communication card if interested.

Baby Consecrations
The word "consecrate" means "to set apart" for God. At SVA, the baby consecration service is that time when parents acknowledge that their children are a gift from God, and covenant before God and the congregation to provide a Christian home and foundation for their lives. Baby consecrations are scheduled quarterly. Email info@svaonline.com or mark your communication card if interested.
