Sacred Space Level I: This is a life changing weekend where you will learn, experience and practice a journey of spiritual formation. We will enter into the daily rhythm of the monks at Mount Angel Abbey as well as have our own group times for learning, practice and instructions for the next adventure! This is a great opportunity to begin practicing silence and personal renewal in the midst of community. Some of the areas we will cover are: Sacred journey: learning to practice, accept and understand spiritual formation as a process and not a destination.
- Sacred moments: learning to worship and become fully present in each of your moments. practicing the art of transformative thankfulness.
- Sacred hours: also called the daily office, we will enter into the practice of drawing together as a community to worship as the bells sound six times each day.
- Sacred words: learning to absorb, chew, and meditate on God's Word. The Word of God is transformative and more than theological information. it needs too be consumed.
- Sacred wounds: learning to become authentic men and women entering into the trust and rhythm of community where wounds can be healed and become sacred.
- Sacred sounds: learning to worship with sound, music, prayer, and tone. sounds draw our attention towards God,
- Sacred silence: learning to bring every thought to Christ through the practice of silence. silence creates the venue for us to hear God speak.
Sacred Space Level II: Level II participants will meet with a spiritual director to establish the area(s) that the participant will be working through. While much of level 2 is structured as personal formation, the participant will be a part of the group sessions in the morning and in the evening. The rest of the day and what the participant focus on, or is practicing will be developed outside of what the level 1 participants will be experiencing. Level 2 is a great opportunity to build upon all the skills you learned in level one, connect in community, and work a personalized spiritual formation plan.
